The Great Give Starts TONIGHT!

THE GREAT GIVE IS HERE!

You’ve heard a lot about the Great Give of Anne Arundel County over the past few weeks. Well, it’s finally here and starts tonight at 7PM! The Great Give, held from 7PM on May 15 to 7PM on May 16, is a 24-hour online fundraising event hosted by the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County. In addition to donations We Care and Friends receives, there is over $80,000 available in cash awards being given out. Some of the awards we are eligible for are:

$10,000 for the MOST DONORS overall
$10,000 for raising the MOST DOLLARS overall
$2,000 LEADER OF THE PACK AWARD for the most donors during the first hour 7-8 PM on May 15
$2,000 NIGHT OWL AWARD for the most donors from midnight to 1 AM on May 16
$2,000 BREAKFAST CLUB AWARD for the most donors between 8-9 AM on May 16
$1,500 LUNCHTIME POWER HOUR AWARD for the most donors between 12 -1 PM on May 16
$1,500 LUNCHTIME POWER HOUR AWARD for the Individual who makes the single largest donation between 12–1 PM on May 16 (Award is donated to nonprofit to which this donor made their winning donation.)

Visit the We Care and Friends page on the Great Give website to make a 100% tax-deductible donation. In order to count toward our total for the Great Give event, your donation MUST be scheduled to occur “On a Giving Day”.

SET UP A FUNDRAISER
Create your own fundraiser to support We Care and Friends! It only takes a few minutes to set up and you’re on your way to helping us provide necessary services to those with nowhere else to turn.

SPREAD THE WORD

A Pair of Six Flags Season Passes to Giveaway!

As a reward for your hard work during the Great Give of Anne Arundel County, We Care and Friends is giving away a pair of Gold Season Passes to Six Flags! The tickets will go to the person or team who raises the most money in a fundraiser for We Care and Friends during the event. Passes include free parking and “bring a friend for free” on selected days. Creating a fundraiser only takes a few minutes and is a great way to enlist the help of friends, family or coworkers. Donations may be made in advance of the event, but in order to count toward our fundraising total, they MUST be scheduled to occur “On a Giving Day” in the donation form. We Care and Friends is pleased to be participating in the first ever Great Give of Anne Arundel County. The Great Give, held from 7PM on May 15 to 7PM on May 16, is a 24-hour online fundraising event hosted by the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County. The goal of the Great Give is to raise awareness and mission-critical funds for area charities. In addition to donations received during the event, we are eligible for additional cash awards throughout the day.

We are pleased to announce that We Care and Friends will be participating in The Great Give, 7PM on May 15 through 7PM on May 16. The Great Give is Anne Arundel County’s inaugural 24-hour online fundraising event created to rally the community in support of local charitable causes. This unique fundraiser is being organized by the Community Foundation of Anna Arundel County.

Through The Great Give, We Care and Friends will also have the opportunity to win additional cash prizes. Stay tuned for more details and ways that you can get involved!

A Caring Project

On February 2, 2013, We Care and Friends will host an event for the premiere of Why We Care, a documentary on the life and work of founder Larry Griffin. The film is aimed to promote awareness of the needs of the many underserved residents of Annapolis and the services that Larry and We Care provide to the community. The January 27 issue of The Capital featured a piece on Larry and offers a preview of what attendees can expect. Read the full article.
