We Care and Friends is dedicated to supporting the building blocks to create strong families and communities in areas affected by drugs, poverty, and crime in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

Homeless have a place to go at We Care and Friends.

On a daily basis, there are bag lunches right outside the office door at We Care and Friends for all the clients. There are many adults and children who drop by every day for a meal. A portion of each day is dedicated to finding employment, clothing, food, and housing for our homeless clients throughout the year.

In bad weather or hard times, our staff will go out in the streets and under bridges to connect with the homeless and assure their needs are met. During Hurricane Irene in 2011, a homeless man was picked up by our staff near Truxton Park just before a tree fell on his tent.

During the winter, We Care and Friends has a relief program in the Stanton Community Center for anyone in need of a warm bed and meal. The program takes in as many as 50 men, women and children a night and is supported by multiple volunteers, local businesses, and organizations.

Our Thanksgiving for the Needy was born to serve the homeless in the Anne Arundel County.
